On-call weekend position, flexible start and finish dates, 2-3+ months duration.

The position is to cover the weekend after-hour commitments for 3 local small animal clinics, from the BMAH after-hours clinic in Leura. The caseload is very manageable for one on-call vet (average 3 consults per weekend and 1-2 hospital cases). This is a sole-charge position with an experienced nurse always on call. The nurse is on the premises on Sunday to help with inpatients and is available to transport critical cases to a 24hours facility if required. Back-up is also available from the local referring veterinarians where necessary.

Remuneration includes a set wage as well as the use of a private apartment and a car for the duration of your stay. If additional work is desired then weekday on-call shifts are available or we can help organise day shifts at one of the local clinics.

The Blue Mountains is home to some of Australia’s best bushwalking, canyoning and climbing as well as many good restaurants, shops, mountain bike and horse riding trails. It is well serviced by rail and road allowing easy access to Sydney and the surrounding area.

This position is ideally suited for a working holiday but may also be appropriate if investigating the region prior to relocation or for someone just interested in maximising their work-life balance.
